- So, what exactly do you do?
-
As a Client Delivery Manager (CDM) it’s my duty to achieve project objectives according to the deliverable criteria agreed with all our clients. We undertake many projects and each client requirement is different. It’s busy, but that’s the best way to be. I’m really enjoying it and very much looking forward to my future at the company.
- Do you work with a specialist team?
-
I work within the Property Management team, managing our Area Measurement and Referencing projects.
- What does a typical day look like?
-
A day typically consists of multiple phone conversations with clients, surveyors and internal staff. Delivering multiple projects five days a week keeps me on my toes!
- What are the most important attributes for the role?
-
A relaxed and positive attitude can overcome any obstacle. Good communication skills, the ability to problem solve and good time management are key.
- What do you love about your job?
-
At Plowman Craven the staff are empowered to make decisions and, as a family would, everyone is keen to help and work as a team. I am pretty new to the company but already Plowman Craven has exceeded all past experiences.
- Any favourite projects so far?
-
Every project I manage offers me key learning experiences in many different ways. There is no particular one project that stands out at the moment, but I’m sure that will change.
- What’s your proudest achievement?
-
Firstly being offered the CDM position at Plowman Craven, and then the speed I have been able to learn and achieve a good standard within the Property Management team.
- Best thing about working for Plowman Craven?
-
The responsibility and trust the company has for its employees.
- What are you like to work with?
-
I would like to guess persistent, pleasant and calm, but this would be for my colleagues around me to answer.
- What advice would you give to somebody wanting to do the same job?
-
Just go for it. Don’t let past experiences or rejection stop you from starting this career on the right path with the right company.
- Any sports and hobbies outside of work?
-
In my everyday life I am a musician, a huge Arsenal fan and I love to cook! If you are not catching me doing something in and around football you will find me with a guitar or some great ingredients in my hands.
- Favourite quote or saying?
-
How do you eat an elephant? The answer is piece by piece.
No project or problem is too large if you break it down and look at individual solutions rather than one large problem. This can apply to the workplace as well as everyday life or stresses.
