Meet Our People: Charlie Millbery Junior Surveyor

Choosing an apprenticeship allows me to develop practical skills, work alongside industry professionals, and gain valuable real-world experience. Attending university one day a week and working four days gives me the best of both worlds!

I’m currently in year 4 of my Geospatial and Mapping Science Specialist Degree Apprenticeship via the BSc (Hons) Surveying and Mapping Science. It’s been a great balance of hands-on experience and academic learning!

Right now, I’m researching and writing my dissertation on: Investigating the accuracy and effectiveness between terrestrial and mobile laser scanning within the surveying and engineering industry. It’s fascinating to explore how technology continues to shape our field.

Each team at Plowman Craven brings a unique perspective, and being able to learn from experienced surveyors, engineers, and geospatial specialists has been invaluable. Whether it’s hands-on fieldwork, data analysis, or innovative laser scanning techniques, every project provides a new challenge and a chance to develop my skills further.
