Meet Steve Jones, Head of New Business at Plowman Craven
Another new face to the Plowman Craven team, Steve brings with him over twenty years' commercial experience in client relations, monetisation of data and forming collaborative partnerships between key stakeholders.
Steve’s career started as a surveyor in the rail industry before becoming an expedition surveyor for the British Antarctic Survey. The expedition began in the Falkland Islands, working alongside scientists doing ground-breaking research at Bird Island, Signy Island and South Georgia, before spending 7 months surveying the brunt ice shelf and the Halley Base, Antarctica.
After several years as a Management Consultant in the mobile phone industry, Steve moved into a commercial role within the geospatial industry. Here, Steve worked on multimillion-pound infrastructure projects implementing new technologies and innovations, reducing costs, carbon footprints and improving safety.
Steve takes on the Head of New Business role at Plowman Craven, and is working closely with our rail team and clients having recently launched the second generation of Vogel Freedom, our world leading UAV service designed to complete rail surveys faster, cheaper and safer than traditional methods.
We wish Steve all the best in his new role. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about Vogel Freedom or indeed Steve's Antarctic expedition, then please get in touch.
