Commercial Manager

We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a Commercial Manager. This role is pivotal within the Plowman Craven group, you will be acting as Head of Monitoring and directly reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. You will be responsible for providing strategy and leadership to the already established business group with the foresight to grow the operations, revenue and drive efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Take ownership for the performance and success of the monitoring team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to implement and align the commercial strategy with organisational goals and market dynamics.
  • Analyse market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead regular progress meetings and annual business planning for the business group, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and ownership of the plan.

Project Management

  • Act as a Senior Project Manager on a number of larger high profile monitoring projects.
  • Mentor and guild Project Managers within the team to ensure on time delivery, client satisfaction and commercial success.
  • Promote contractual management and financial understanding within the business group.
  • Financial Analysis and Forecasting
  • Collaborate with CFO and COO to develop accurate revenue forecasts and analyse financial data.
  • Manage costs effectively to control profit and loss, owning Work In Progress reporting and tracking KPIs.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Work with the sale team to understand client requirements, generate proposals, and obtain feedback for improved customer experience.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute targeted marketing plans.
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with top clients, driving business within respective business groups.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication
  • Promote open communication and collaboration among team members and other departments.
  • Provide guidance and support to empower team members and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Reporting and Communication

  • Deliver regular updates and progress reports to senior executives, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.

What We Require From You:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or significant experience in structural monitoring delivery.
  • Proven experience in commercial management, project management and sales.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and forecasting techniques.
