JOB TITLE: Sales Estimator
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Senior Estimator role supports the regional sales operations by developing baseline tender responses (estimates, specifications, proposals) for survey projects, establishing project information in CRM and folder structures, and ensuring timely and good housekeeping. This position requires close collaboration with the regional sales operations and supports the conversion of opportunities into secured projects across a breadth of markets, including property, infrastructure and construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understanding Client Needs: Diligently read and interpret client-supplied information to build a thorough understanding of project requirements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
- Baseline Estimates: Use in-house tools to build initial estimates for survey projects, providing the foundation for Technical Consultants to refine and engage with clients.
- Sales Support Documents: Develop critical sales support documents, including red-line extent boundaries, specification checklists, and initial proposal wording, to assist the sales process.
- CRM Management: Documenting all key opportunity information in CRM and supporting the regional sales operations in keeping the CRM system up to date.
- File Organisation: Save files in standard folder structures with appropriate naming conventions, ensuring efficient access and retrieval of project documents.
- Collaboration: Work closely within the estimation team and with in-region sales operations teams, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork to drive project success.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Strong English Reading Skills: Essential for accurately interpreting client information and developing estimates.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with property, infrastructure, construction, and surveying terminology; on-the-job training is available if necessary.
- Numeracy and Excel Proficiency: Strong numeracy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for estimation and data analysis.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage CRM data accurately and maintain organised and accessible documentation.
- Teamwork and Communication: Excellent people skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within the estimation and sales teams.
- Estimation Experience: Experience in estimation within the property or construction sector is highly desirable.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and manage records efficiently
